Agreements are negotiated more regularly (usually every 2 or 3 years) between unions and employers and registered by the Western Australian Industrial Relations Board (WAIRC). After registration, the provisions of the contract apply to all workers at the workplace who perform work covered by the employment contract. On Monday 27 March 2006, the Commonwealth Workplace Relations Amendment (Work Choices) Act 2005 began its work and amended which was covered by the Western Australian Industrial Relations awards. This coverage of the Commonwealth continued with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and the awarding of modern distinctions. Agreements can now be displayed in an alphabetical list, while it is possible to search for the website.
